What is a Behaviourist?
A good behaviourist will have been trained in psychology. This means that when presented with a problem we determine the cause of this behaviour and what triggers it. With this information we have gained we are in a much better position to correct the problem.
What can a behaviourist do that a training class cannot?
If like the most responsible dog owners you want an obedient, well-behaved dog then a training class is what you need. However, if your dog has a behaviour problem other than a lack of basic training, for instance chewing, messing in the house, aggression or any problem that causes upset to yourself or your dog then a behaviourist can help.
What can you expect from your consultation?
Firstly some information will be taken over the telephone and an appointment will be arranged. We will visit you in your home to observe your dog in their own environment. An assesment will be made and an appropriate course of action will be discussed with you. A detailed report will then follow for you to use as a reference. We would like to reassure you that your behaviourist can always be contacted.
What type of dog is right for me?
We can provide you with personalised consultation with regard to the right dog for you. We will consider such issues as lifestyle, involvement of children, excercise, picking from a litter. For more information regarding this service please do not hesitate to contact us.
